Lumen LPC 4'x8' Configuration

Maximum Flexibility to Cut Large Sheets

Automate Production

The 4'x8' Laser Productivity Center precisely cuts large parts up to 4'x8' or automatically processes a full extended bed layout of smaller parts.

With a minor (2 minute) configuration change, the machine also offers all of the throughput benefits of the LPC "Shuttle" cutting mode with dual 4'x3' cutting areas. In this continuous production mode, the load/unload operations take place at work stations at the front and rear of the machine, while the laser cuts continuously. Throughput can be improved by as much as 100% in this configuration.

The easy access load table is key to the flexibility of the 4'x8' LPC. After loading a large sheet of raw stock onto the bed the first 4'x4' section rolls into the machine for cutting. After the first 4'x4' section is cut the machine automatically indexes the pallet to its second 4'x4' section. The machine automatically splits and precisely matches the part in software.

The 4'x8' pallet is calibrated and aligned to match perfectly between the cutting sections. Additionally, the machine automatically ramps power at the meeting point to maintain constant energy delivery and a virtually blemish free meeting point. The 4'x8' LPC is designed to provide the flexibility to cut very large parts when required while giving up none of the throughput benefits of continuous cutting machine automation.
